Research and Development

Inquiry. Innovation. Intentional Action.

At The Urban Education Change Equation, research is not abstract theory — it is a catalyst for meaningful, student-centered change.

Our Research & Development work is grounded in critical and creative thinking, strategic inquiry, and actionable outcomes. We are committed to studying urban education with clarity and courage, asking the right questions, and translating insight into impact.

We are passionate as we pursue our inaugural study:

Five Questions Initiative

The Five Questions Initiative is a transformative project designed to develop a shared understanding of urban education reform and the TUECE vision, mission, goals, and action items.

This initiative centers on the following research questions:

  • What do we mean when we say “urban education reform”?
  • What do we know about urban education reform? How?
  • What does the evidence suggest is working in urban education? Why?
  • What does the evidence suggest is not working in urban education reform? Why?
  • What change needs to happen? Why and how?

Supporting Partners
